New Gundam series next October!… Apparently.
Fresh from the rumour mill. According to Moon Phase Zakki sources, a new Gundam series will start airing October next year. Many valorous spies paid the ultimate sacrifice to bring us this information.

Quote:
Translation:
New Gundam series, starts airing October next year!… Apparently.
Taking over the time slot of Ayakashi Ayashi, a new Gundam series will air during the Saturday 6pm slot next year. The director will be Seiji Mizushima. Although this is, technically, an internal leak, it is not confirmed whether the project is really proceeding as stated.
You can just feel the journalistic confidence oozing out of this little article… On another note, Seiji Mizushima is most well-known as the director of Full Metal Alchemist.
Unlike most people, I still have hopes for the SEED franchise, especially if a new director is being brought in to continue the series. While it is not certain if the new Gundam series will continue the C.E. timeline, or indeed whether it even exists at this moment, I have this to say: BRING STELLAR BACK!!!
P.S. Moon Phase has also confirmed, with information from Comiket 70, that the third Nanoha series will be a full-fledged TV series and not OVAs. I don’t care for Nanoha, but it’s on the same page as this news so might as well….

I totally agree with Zyrael on post 88. Although I’m in envy with your military knowledge.
Yes, now that we will soon have the full advanced technology of genetic engineering, it’s most possible that Coordinators and other genetically manipulated humans. Of course, as explored in SEED series, Science do have some errors. Scarcely, Earth will enter another new era like the C.E. stage, from the A.D. years. That’s likely possible.
And who could have expect a girl like Lacus to have natural pink hair? Genetic manipulation does that job.
And as I noticed, Lacus’ hair from GS to GSD appeared longer, and the end of it looks tangled up or something…

Hell No!!! Gundam Seed / Destiny is crap to the highest order. cus of many reasons
1. It is a freakin rip off of the original Mobile Suit Gundam
2. The characters are made to just look attractive / cute / hot and doesn’t add much to the damn story
3. The characters are crying tears half the time
4. Plot changes too quickly and gives away a lot of things at the beginning (of course the bad guys always lose and the good guys look cool “sighs”)
5. Story doesn’t make any damn sense since those hourglasses in space are too freakin fragile and the sizes are all blown out of proportion
6. SEED mode : what the heck is that = a sudden burst of energy for Newtypes?
7. Bring back Stellar! R U kidding me that would make Gundam Seed fall deeper than the pits of hell, as cute and hot as she looks in that photo it would not bring any meaning back into the story since Final Plus was a good place to end the series.
8. the list can go on and on…Yes i can go on and on about the crap that comes out of Gundam Seed / Destiny Email me if you want more details heeroyuy041@aol.com or im me if you have aim or hotmail
Bottom Line: It would be better to make a sequel to Gundam Wing since Endless Waltz left the viewers hangin and wanting more details.

More to comment after reading some more posts (Sorry for the inconvenience)
1. the UC series is way lame if you look at the original MSG the RX-78-2 looks like a rectangle, ie. square moving parts and poor design.
2. the 08th Ms team is likely the only Gundam show for the UC series that I actually support since they made an improvement on how realistic a battle can be.
3. In the UC series the colors in the series are really dull if you look at them carefully compared to GW and GS/GSD.
4. GS/GSD is more or less a modern developed version of the UC series. (Ie characters in UC lacked color, stylish finish, poorly drawn frames and designs
While on the other hand GS/GSD updated the UC series for a more modern audience, such as making the characters look insanely attractive, cute, hot, etc. If they were to continue any of the current gundam series around it would just cause more controversy)
5. I highly doubt that everything in SEED is derived from GW. If you analyze the actions carefully SEED is actually a combination of GW and the UC series (So stop bashing Gundam Wing cus UC is also to blame)
While on the topic of realistic and possible technologies Gundam Seed is more like a 22nd century sort of thing. But Gundam Wing is more within our reach judging by our status quo on military projects. Intelligence indicates that they are possibly developing a MECH WARRIOR type suit in Russia (not enough details yet). However this new series might look better but it really depends on the story and how it turns out. Besides it’s been a while since a new gundam series was released so it probably won’t be as popular as it was when Gundam Wing was still around.
Side Note G-GUndam over saturated the whole gundam franchise, i mean how cheap can they get with it airing it twice on Toonami, Cartoon Network When they only aired GW and GS once. G-Gundam ruined the whole gundam franchise that was going on. Gundam Wing and the Original MSG set the gundam franchise in US at a steady pace.
Basic Line up of explanations
Gundam Seed: Cute Looking Characters, Steady Plot growth made for modern audience (Yes Lacus and Athrun are drawn to look like super stars with big reputations. This applies to other characters as well)
Gundam Seed D. More Cute Characters, choppy plot, worthy ending (Again, yes Lunamaria and Kira are supposed to look “hot” for the modern audience to give them good ratings same applies to other characters)
Gundam Wing: the whole “bad boys” type of show, slow and concise plot allowing the viewers to fully understand the circumstances
G-Gundam: Crappy characters, gundams are more based on human strength and really hurts when your head is blown off (ouch)
Original MSG: started in 1979 (hence UC 0079), Mobile Suits look bland and put together by boxes and cardboard
08th MS team: more realism to the fact that gravity on earth makes battles harder to win than in other series.
Other UC Series: Poor animations bad colors and hard to understand full plot
Other Gundam Series: SDG Force was designed for 1yr olds who needed to learn english and that violence is bad,
No More comments on other series since they are all dull colored and mildly related to UC.
Yes I like Gundam Wing Better than Any gundm Series out on the market because i Believe that it is more plausible and easy to understand and grab the plot.

I for one wish they can put Canard Pars in the series. He would own the series.

Well, I refer to posts 93 and 94 of this discussion here.
My stand, as obvious, is still on Gundam SEED. Not because its about the only whole series I managed to catch.
If you look at the series of Gundam SEED, there’s a lot of focus on several aspects of life, other than the advanced technology they had in that series. If you’d noticed, a lot of politics were focused on the series alone. About the manipulation politics can do to make people trust them, all for the aim of a major catastrophe (in SEED, Coordinators conquering the world of humans; in Destiny, Destiny Plan). In fact, a lot more that a number of people I know just fear to notice.
One big aspect, I realized, is about the names of the Gundams themselves. For instance, compare the Freedom/Justice duo in SEED and in SEED Destiny. Perhaps you should check the dictionaries about the 2 words themselves. As noted, Freedom and Justice is certainly the best combination for peace in the world itself i.e., being able to do anything you want without offending or injuring anyone, and without doing any injustice that makes peace fragile. But, in SEED Destiny, Freedom Gundam is the only main mobile suit left used in fights (apart from Strike Rouge and the Murasames). It shows that freedom, without justice, led people to do whatever they want, even killing (which led Heine and Stellar to their deaths).
Impulse, too, has its own meanings as well. One big example is its pilot, Shinn, who always act on impulse, particularly in battles. In battles, he’s reckless at times, always doing what he feels is right at the moment. Just like how he destroyed a secret base that the EAF attempted to build on their allies’ land (can’t remember which episode). He even felt that he can fight against Gaia before then, ignoring Athrun’s command. Off battles, everything’s almost exactly the same, as his impulse led him to blurt out his anger towards ORB and Athha towards Cagalli, in a few of the earlier episodes of Destiny.
There’s a lot more about the names of the mobile suits, as well as the time in which they started operation. 2 examples I can give in which machines appear at the same time are:
- Raider, Forbidden and Calamity
- Chaos, Gaia and Abyss
Think about it. What’s the underlying meanings of their 3-at-once appearances in the entire series?
Of course, the directors/writers themselves didn’t create the plot for Gundam SEED series just because of cute people and others you guys had said. There are, of course, underlying meanings about many things, like politics, war, and even a bit of life (fate, for instance). (I’ve heard, though, Naruto had beaten the entire series of MS Gundams in terms of underlying meanings about life :P
And, talking about “cute” people. I do not know what to say about that, but I feel that such things are used to attract people to watch the shows. Who wants to watch shows that have a boring plot and characters with uninteresting looks? Come on man, this is the market of media.
But regarding the different species of people, Coordinators are shown throughout the series to have better looks as compared to Naturals. Let me this emphasize again: these looks are due to genetic engineering, the manipulation of Coordinators genes to make them look better. Who would have thought that some Coordinators, for instance, Lacus, Athrun and the Meyrin sisters, would have natural pink, blue and red hair?
And of course, the problems of genetic engineering are explored too. Parents did not get the looks of what they want their kids to look like, and the ethnic problems also surface, opposing genetic manipulation. At a highest level explored in genetic engineering, the Destiny Plan, which is about the manipulation of unborn babies to make them specialize in a particular area like, say music. This is considered the “sealing of future generations’ destiny”.
Looking in terms of technology, other than Genetic engineering, there are a lot of things that are really possible. Military, for instance, can achieve a level like that in Gundam SEED, or perhaps, higher than that. Lasers, Phase Shift, Mirage Colloid… everything is possible. There’s no such thing as “the technology in Gundam SEED is fictional and all crap”. Yes, all this can be possible. Who knows, in the near future, they’ll be such things as mobile suits and DRAGOON systems, and more!
Finally, I emphasize that, again, it is TECHNICALLY impossible that Stellar will come back in person. It’d rather be her soul, or someone who looks like her, that will fit as an alternative. Again, Gundam SEED is not a fantasy series, so resurrection IS impossible.
Took quite a while to type this, and I don’t know if I did type any rubbish in what I said in the above. But I just would like to say, there’s a lot more things that are explored in the SEED series that a couple of people fail to discover. Whether its politics, technology or many more, there’s always plenty underlying meanings in the entire series.
May 23rd, 2007 at 9:39 pm
I understand that my previous post is very long. But I’m just telling some people about the meanings that I can see from the literature point of view. Of course, it may be wrong, but at least I hope that more people can be able to realize the meanings behind parts of the series, no matter how small.
Of course, one with a very professional literature skills can identify the meanings. I ain’t a really good literature student though :(
As many should realize, certain series nowadays are strong in the literature aspect.
May 23rd, 2007 at 10:30 pm
Finally someone else mentions the fact that most of the SEED people that are “good looking” are because they are Coordinators. It only makes sense that they would be.
Anyways,
@ HeeroYuy041:
Gundam Wing is my favorite too but there’s no need to bash on other series. They all have their strong points and weak points.
That being said, to other people out there: please don’t bash any Gundam series. Anything that you can find wrong in a series can be found worse in another series if you look at things from a slightly different perspective. Even if you can’t do this there will always be some things that make a series the worst one depending on how you look at them. Keep an open mind, look at all of the series as a whole and each one seperately. The only exception to this would maybe (emphasis on maybe) be SD Gundam. But again, it all depends on how you look at it.
@darkdestiny
You have some points but many of them are paralleled in GUndam Wing. Especially an in depth look into politics. I won’t go into details because Wing is full of politics. Gundam Wing also had some meaningfull naming as well. In some language or other Heero=one, Duo=two, Trowa=three, Quatre=four, Wufei=five. They may not be direct meanings of each other but each of the name’s meanings at least imply something. Then there is the naming of mobile suits after constellations. What any of this has to do with anything, I don’t know, that would be some really in depth analysis that would need a lot of extra research.
On a more general note: I’m not sure where, it may have been here or it may have been on an IGN post, someone said something along the lines of “dead is dead in the Gundam universe, unless you are Char”
Anyone agree that that is very wrong. Some series make it apparent that the person really survived others keep the audience in suspense. Look at how many people “died” and the series let us believe they were dead: Char, Shiro Amada(maybe, edited versions leave out episode 12 where they show he is alive, and may cut out the end of 11 when its not very noticable that they are leaving), Heero, Trowa, Lady Une, Milliardo Peacecraft (kind of), Kira, Athrun, Mu La Flaga, Andrew Waltfeld, Chapman (G Gundam)
There are probably many more too, and as I said, these are just some of the ones that show people dying, and then they don’t show them not have really died a couple of minutes later. This is not to mention all of the people that should have died in various situations, but managed a miraculous escape and not to mention all of the “souls” that plague the UC and CE universes.

i just read a couple posts, and i found _this particular post_ (i wont say which) absolutely hilarious. Actually, the fact that people are still commenting on this ancient post is funny too.
Anti-matter is being explored in weapon research, tis true,
and the fact that a great amount of energy is released is true too,
but, angels and demons is NOT a good source of scientific info. =p
and i liked this one too
“There’s no such thing as “the technology in Gundam SEED is fictional and all crap”. Yes, all this can be possible. Who knows, in the near future, they’ll be such things as mobile suits and DRAGOON systems, and more!”
have you taken a college levelled physics class? the science SEED describes is utter BS. mobile suits? DRAGOON SYSTEM? I’m sorry to spoil your dream man, but no. Wont happen.
Science aside, i wasnt that much bothered by it while watching SEED.
Simply put, I didnt like it because i felt like i wasted my time watching it, and thats why it sucked.

Send him to the Intelligance to research about Mobile suit… sure got mobile suit in next 4 billions years later… by the way Starwars 1 of the best also…..
May 24th, 2007 at 1:28 am
I agree with Darkdestiny In his long Statement….
I agree…. Media…. biz…… not just…. bla bla bla and hu hu ha ha….
or wow wow wow and yes yes yes….
Media biz…. the want to attract more People…. like they did in seed….
It attract Girls and boys……
May 24th, 2007 at 6:46 am
Well, Gystara, perhaps a DRAGOON system look-a-like won’t really exist in the future. But mobile suits can, given how fast the technology involving robots had advanced. Time will tell what will happen.
And are you kidding about my taking physics class in college? Nope, that’s not true. But if you meant science, I’m certainly undergoing a science course right now.
May 24th, 2007 at 10:44 pm
wow darkdestiny is future Scientice wow……. if you be it soon and build MOBILE SUIT soon …
May 25th, 2007 at 8:20 pm
I doubt so… having been doing well in class. Ain’t studying engineering subjects though.
But I’ve been thinking about this: how about turning an MS Gundam series, old or new, into 3D? It’ll be much interesting if they do that.
But if not, at least turn a Gundam movie 3D then!
