Kiddy Grade Sequel “Kiddy Grade 2” (tentative title) is in the works!
Aya Hirano, the seiyuu of Lumière, revealed that a second Kiddy Grade anime is in the works during the broadcast of “Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu SOS-dan Radio Subdivision” episode 35. The new anime will continue to focus on Éclair and Lumière. A pilot episode will be released first.

The first Kiddy Grade series was kind of nice, but it didn’t leave much impression other than a swath of Éclair x Lumière H-doujinshi. Here are some suggestions from me for Kiddy Grade 2 to achieve the status of ultimate moé!
- Make Lumière more tsundere
- More girls
- Introduce a meido-fuku dojikko who is often sexually harrassed
- Make her shoot laser beams from her eyes as her ES power
- Rename GOTT to SOS団
- Bunny costume shall be the new work uniform
- Ponytails
- Instead of just incest, get yuri incest!
- Throw in 12 sisters while you are at it
- Trap(s) — Everyone is doing it
Okay so my suggestions suck like a vacuum cleaner, but seriously, will anyone ever be able to watch Kiddy Grade 2 without thinking of Haruhi-sama every time Lumière speaks? It will be a whole new viewing experience. 楽ã—ã¿ï½ž

meh… I want Gatekeepers 1985! Ukiya/Reiji’s gates at their max should be just epic material and the Invader bosses.. and why Ruriko is not with Ukiya in the end Y_Y Ayane is cool in GK:21 though.. but Reiji with his dual gates is just kickass. Kiddy Grade 2.. is good.. more Eclair yay >_>
Okay, this must be a joke.
Kiddy Grade had great characters and nice animation, but the story itself was a mindfuck with the same level of Jinki Extend and Evangelion. If this rumor is true then i hope that the production-team can make a story that is understandable for everyone.
The first Kiddy Grade was a little bit unfocused with what it wanted to, but was a very enjoyable action series with some interesting story elements. Hopefully the second one will be able to improve upon the first.

Yes indeed. Her “Suzumiya Haruhi” role gave her the spotlight she always, and will, deserve.
I have to admit I really enjoyed Kiddy Grade. Although it wasn’t particularily deep or realistic, I thought it was a really fun anime with awesome production values that had a cool enough ‘twist’ in the plot to be fun. I must be the only person out there who while watching Suzumiya Haruhi kept thinking she’d say ‘girls should be more elegant!’.
@Colo: yeah, Aya was Lumiere. And she was a real loli bait when she did that.
I’m actually pretty surprised that they are planning a 2nd season for kiddy grade because… it honestly doesn’t need one.
Gatekeepers 1985 ftw. I hope they’ll do that instead.

I enjoyed the first season immensely, despite the various comments from people one can find online to disagree…
Yes, it was confusing. Yes, some elements were a little annoying (and yes, I mean ‘some’ [for the 12yr olds who will take this word and be stupid about it.])
But overall, a great series, worth a look if you have not seen, and worth a second season, despite anyones complaints.
Who knows, maybe even the people who can only hate, even they might like KG if the second season answers a few of their questions.
i think that there should be a season 2 also a movie for kiddy grade i would like it if they would atleast have made eclair and lumiare look like there old selfs

Finally someone agrees with me.
It was a terrible mistake taking an adorable couple of characters like Éclair and Lumiere and altering their appearance.
I fell in love with the original images, only to have this shattered in the confusion of alternate Éclair’s/Lumiers. At some stages the only heroes not looking like Éclair and Lumier…. are Éclair and Lumiere.
Of the few flaws in this potentially brilliant anime, the change in appearance is the worst, and ruined the last third of the series for me.
Now I find, not only are their appearances to change once again for KG2… a name change is also likely.
Mr Gotoh’s original Kiddy Grade won, then lost me, and thats a shame, the original Éclair is without a doubt my favorite anime character, however it seems she has had her platform ripped from underneath her by this talented but un-thinking director.
Rule #1 Don’t change the appearance of main characters….EVER, it is strongly disappointing!!
I think a KG2 is a good idea, I liked the first 2/3’s of the original series…but from episodes 16-24 it kinda went downhill for me. I think there needs to be a second one to get some real closure =P. Cause the ending of the first sucked imo.
And yes, go back to the original character appearances!
