Hehe I honestly thought it was a joke, until I investigated the official Bandai USA website http://www.bandai-ent.com/index.cfm and saw the SOS logo there, which itself was linked to the ASOS site.

Maybe it really is a joke, and Bandai’s just in on it? I can see it now…
Bandai announces the release of the first DVD will be on April 3rd, 2007, and that they’ll release footage of Asahina Mikuru no Bouken Episode 00, pegged as the first episode on the DVD, on their website a few days early to promote it. The end of March comes, and at midnight (PT, of course) on the Sunday before the DVD release, when Bandai had announced that the footage would be shown, we get another Pink Space Ranger Haruhi video where she basically says “April Fools, FUNimation really has the license.” After that it redirects to the FUNimation site where Episode 00 is played online in dub form. “Highlights” include a failure to get the license for either “God Knows” or “Hare Hare Yukai,” Tsuruya-san having a southern accent, an overacting Itsuki sounding like he’s a regular at the Blue Oyster Bar (NO ONE is going to get that reference these days), “esper” being translated to “superhero,” and very nice packaging and DVD menus. Rioting in the streets, societal breakdown, and a big fat lawsuit from Marvel Comics follow…
