My national TV debut
All 0.3 seconds of it!
Channel U recently aired a TV special covering the new cosplay maid cafe that just opened in Singapore last month. I was there on New Year’s Eve when they took some of the footages and was caught by the camera pan in this frame!
You can watch the video yourself after the jump, which includes an interview (in Chinese) with LianYL. LOL! LOL! LOL! Video is in Mandarin Chinese (or as close as it gets in Singapore).

I shall translate for the boredom of myself(Synopsis only):
So the guy host intro the female host to this meido cafe, when she has no idea WTH that is. She thought that the guy will be the one attending to him. But NoNo…Then only then she was intro to the Meido cafe.
Then the people briefly explained the meaning of Cosplay and the costumes that the Meidos wear, which is Victorian Black and White Lace costumes..bla bla bla..and the people who come here will be addressed as “Goshujin-sama!!” (*I WANT!!)
Then they came and get greeted by the Kawaii~ meidos..XD
Speaking to the 16-year-old boss by the name of Ferlyn, they get to know how she got the idea of a Meido cafe in Singapore.Out of 200,she picked 17. And the criterias for picking the meidos are:
1) Need to do Make-ups
2) Have individual talents
3) Love this sort of servicing jobs cos they need to know how to role-play as meidos.
All that follows are interviews from people and the meidos..And the theme of using cosplays to attract customers are something fresh in singapore.( and the rating the programme give for freshness of ideas is only 2.. :P) And feel free to attend the cafe’s Theme Night..The main selling point of it all: The costumes!! XD

What languages do Singapore people speak? Also, I’ve never heard of 妹妹(little sister) being used as a general term for girls. Is that some kind of Singapore colloquial thing or is my Mandarin stagnating?
