Konata’s Fanart
Please watch Lucky Star episode 8 before reading this entry.
Remember how Konata was being so proud of the fact that her fanart submission was published in Newtype? Well I browsed through the latest issue in Kinokuniya today and indeed it was there! I took a picture of it secretly with my compact digital camera when no one was looking. Just like downloading fansubs and jaywalking, it’s okay as long as you don’t get caught.
By the way it’s the drawing on the right depicting Akira. Apparently Konata is an Akira fan. So cool. The accompanying text basically says that this submission is a message of support of Akira-sama and also, as a side note, includes a small plead for Shirashi-kun to be given better treatment.
Kyo-ani are cool people.

Fun stuff. Gotta say, I respect corporations that know how to turn a profit while still keeping their fans happy.
Newtype was also rather sporting to post it as well (since it’s effectively an unpaid advertisement) I suppose it’s mutually beneficial :)
Now, all that’s left is for kyoani to post the full opening dance sequence on their website. Mass Lucky Star dance FTW

Gotta love KyoAni for doing this much. It really makes me happy to see them put a lot of effort into details and such.

awesome :D
Now I re-watched episode 8, and you can see the fanart xD
a.f.k translated it as “postcard” tho

Ah. Right. A lot of the fanart submissions are sent in on postcards. Well it’s like an illustrated greeting card I guess.

Sexy interplay between real life and anime life. Wait, does this mean that Konata exists somewhere in Saitama? Let’s book the plane tickets DM.

I expected KyoAni to pull a stunt like this off. Awesome people they are, truly awesome.

>>and also, as a side note, includes a small plead for Shirashi-kun to be given better treatment.
Shiraishi does need better treatment.
The fact that KyoAni can pull a stunt like that is one of the same reasons the media and advertising industries are losing their audience every day. The line between entertainment and advertising is gone. And good stories can’t be told anymore as long as everybody’s trying to cash in. WTF, Japan.

If she’s real, I’d woo her anyday. lol
June 1st, 2007 at 2:07 pm
LOL~ No way. I wasn’t expecting Newtype to publish a postcard by Konata. I thought it was just a usual publicity stunt.
