Bokurano - Uninstall
“Uninstall” by Chiaki Ishikawa is the awesome opening of Bokurano. Chiaki is the vocal half of the popular duo See-Saw (the other half being Yuki Kajiura). Although her voice is superb, most of her songs outside of See-Saw have been at best above average. So it comes as quite a surprise that Uninstall managed to pull it off without Yuuka’s composing.
I wanted to order the first press but both Amazon and Neowing ran out… :( You can still get the regular edition, though.

I must say that the lyrics fit the story of Bokurano quite well.

I agree, the lyrics are great! However, I think you mistranslated a couple of lines (lines particularly pertinent to the story, I might add):
恐れを知らない戦士のように
振る舞うしかない アンインストール
Should be:
I have no choice but to act
as if I were a fearless warrior. Uninstall
Personally I think these are the best two lines in the song, as when Chiaki sings the first line, it gives the listener the expectation that the next word will be 戦う, but it ends up as 振舞う, indicating that in spite of the expectations placed on them, the children are unable to be fearless warriors.

If I can’t even choose the season of my quiet passing
i.e. the singer is frustrated at her lack of control over the time of her death.

It’s a superb song and easily the best opening of this season. It’s too bad I won’t be at AX to hear Ishikawa sing it.

It sounds like a sad puppy fighting spamware on his/her plagued windows PC.
I like the song like everyone else, but I still can’t get over the choice of engrish here.
And I think Ishikawa’s other songs are notably above average on the whole. Especially if you consider she also writes her own stuff, including this one. She’s just not a mass-pandering ho like Kajiura ;)

she has sounds similar to Yoko Kanno. But somewhere, she loses to her. But overall, they both are goddess. Lol..some many buts.. :P

I’m not sure what’s the special bonus. Anyway CD Japan and Amazon ran out off first presses months ago because they take preorders.

She looks quite different from what I last recall from the See-Saw days…..and it’s Yuki not Yuuka.. you probably referring to Yuuka Nanri the seiyuu >_>
