Haruhi season 2 is coming!
The latest issue of Newtype has the exclusive… It’s supposed to go onsale on the 10th but apparently the scans have been leaked… Not much details, though. Thanks to Kyon for informing me.
Oh great, another S$400 worth of DVDs coming my way soon. Hail Haruhi!

the red text says “i am here”. not sure about the smaller text to the right cuz i suck at kanji. it gives a date 7/7/07 and then says something to the effect of a girl did/will do? something. and the next sentence says “that girl’s name is suzumiya haruhi”. nuff said as far as im concerned.(read : im way too lazy to look up all those kanji)

Anyways, Darkmirage, you getting that live concert “Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekisou” DVD coming out end of the month?
Edit: Ok, after watching 5 mins of the concert clip on newtype’s page… I guess I’m still not ready to stomach seiyuus prancing and dancing in cosplay on stage in front of hundreds of otakuish men. The Hare Hare Yukai segment by the seiyuus was… nice though… I guess… (When Hirano Aya wears a really short frilly skirt and shakes her hips, you see stuff…)

Well, there are 2 hints there. In fact 2 dates are there, 07.07.07 and 10.07.07.
The words in black large print on the top right of the scan says that on the 7th of July ‘07 (tomorrow), Haruhi reappeared.
Then in the fake school newsletter dated 10th July ‘07 (next Tuesday), it reports about supposed alien markings on the school grounds seen by the student populace on 9th July (next Monday) while they were on their way to school.
According to rumors, 2 students were seen on the campus during Saturday night. Your guess is as good as mine as to who the 2 people in the pics are.
So to summarize, in Haruhi-Land, Haruhi will appear tomorrow night, students will see the markings on Monday morning, and the Newspaper Club
will do a scoop that gets printed on Tuesday.
So, either the dates are just make-believe dates in Haruhi-Land, or they actually mean something is going to get broadcasted really soon.

In the novels, the date 07/07 ( tanabata festival in Japan) is the date that several events occurs, in the present and the past. It’s kinda landmark in spacetime continuous, since they (actually he - Kyon) goes to this date several times.

Yeah, I’ve read the tanabata chapter. Seems like 070707 is just a good date for a coincidental article in Newtype. Still they did not put 070708, that means it could be this year.

Did anyone else catch that mysterious video feed last night (about 9PM Toyko time) on the Newtype site or the official site?
Scary.
But that was amazing. Sure, people will dismiss it as yet another KyoAni gimmick, but that was far and away the best gimmick I’ve seen in ages. I would expect no less from Suzumiya-san. ^_^
As much fun as that was, though, IT WASN’T AN ANNOUNCEMENT (at least, not of the explicit, unambiguous kind). I’m still waiting.
