First rant of my little blog.
While I was playing Natural Selection (the best Half-Life mod ever :P), I noticed something: with all my teammates either screaming into the mics or typing in caps, I realized that most people forgot what gaming is about. Playing a game is not just about winning, it’s about having fun. Most people in online games these days just want to win.
Generals player played against computers online to raise their stats, until a patch fixed it. NS players trying to get into the winning side, causing the losing side to lose even more as they are outnumbered. MMORPG players just keep killing and spawn camping to raise their levels. Are all these things really fun? What’s the use of winning if you end up working instead of playing.
