X-Men 2

2 min read

w00t! I saw X-Men 2 today!
Here’s a spoiler free review:
The show was great and all. They changed a lot of stuff from the original series, like in Spiderman. (Spidey was shooting web as a mutant power in the movie) Anyway the plot was a bit too easy to predict and again I have to stress the fact that they did not follow the original stories. :(
It will be a LOT better if you have watched X-Men the first movie. The ending left quite a lot to continue if they ever want to make a sequel.
This is about as much as I can say without revealling the plots.

8.2/10

UPDATE: Since most people should have seen the movie by now, I’ll add a spoiler:
The biggest thing I have to say about this movie is: Pheonix!
Yup, those of you who know the original X-Men storyline will know about the Pheonix. The creature that merged with Jean to multiply her power by many many times.

Some proofs that they are going towards the (Dark) Pheonix Saga:

1. In the movie, Jean suddenly became more powerful (I assume Pheonix went into her in between the 2 movies) and as Scoot say: (not exact wording) “Jean, what happened to you. You used to need to concentrate just to move a small object, but now when you have nightmares the whole room shakes”

2. When Jean sacrificed her life to hold back the water and saved her friends, you can see that she was one fire for no apparent reason. Hint: Pheonix…fire bird.

3. At the end of the movie, you can see a yellow outline of something in the lake/sea where Jean “died”. Hint: Fire is yellow

All this points to the fact that Jean is going to return from the dead in the 3rd movie as (Dark) Pheonix.

Background info: Pheonix is supposed to save the whole…from something I can’t remember. (it was in space so it’s alien or something) After saving the world, Pheonix was still in Jean. It didn’t have a reason to use its mighty powers for, so it turned bad and started destroying things for fun. That’s when Jean became the Dark Pheonix. The 3rd movie may or may not be about Dark Pheonix but you can be sure Pheonix will be there.
