The Pearl Harbor Conspiracy

The US was warned by, at least, the governments of Britain, Netherlands, Australia, Peru, Korea and the Soviet Union that a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor was coming. All important Japanese codes were broken. FDR and Marshall and others knew the attack was coming, allowed it and covered up their knowledge. It’s significant that both the the chief of OP-20-G Safford and Friedman of Army SIS, the two people in the world that knew what we decoded, said that FDR knew Pearl Harbor was going to be attacked.

Quite a nice read. Although a bit biased in a few areas, it backed up and provided sources for everything almost it quoted. (including reports by the Congress-elected Pearl Harbor Commitee which investigated the incident) Basically the gist of it is:
1. The article pointed proofs that USA were perfectly able to decode all Japanese diplomatic and military messages.
2. USA had been monitoring their commnication for a few years.
3. All intelligence regarding the pending Japanese attack were not given to the Hawaiian commanders. (more specifically, anyone at Pearl Harbor)
4. President Roosevelt took direct control of ALL spying, military and diplomatic activities on Japan. This was a politically damaging move, so why did he do it?
5. All the best equipments and troops (aircraft carriers and high ranking officers) that were normally based in Pearl Harbor were relocated on the day of the attack and only WW1 junks were left. (old battleships)
6. And most importantly: ALL intercepted Japanese messages up to 1 year before the attack are still classified until today, 50+ years after the war, under “National Security”.

Roosevelt was desparate to fight the war as he felt that Hitler was great threat. He was selling arms and supplies to UK under a “Lend and Lease Act” even though it was against international law and he was effectively declaring war on German by doing that. (note this was before US was in ANY way related to the war) The president needed an excuse to gain the support of the Congress and the American people in joining the war. He knew that if Japan declared war, German was in a binding pact (you know, the whole Axis of Evil thing) and must declare war on its allies’ enemies. So Roosevelt gave a perfect oppurtunity for the Japanese to attack and after that, sent most of its troops to EUROPE, and some to Asia for show. According to people closed to the President, he was NOT surprised or even worried after PH was attacked, in fact one person was quoted that the President expressed “great relief” and anotehr said he was “in a way more serene”. This was the same president that lost sleep when Russia was attacked by German.

Oh yar, more proof of the conspiracy:
1. The Japanese were so sucky at hiding their plans that Britain, Netherlands, Australia, Peru, Korea and the Soviet Union (Richard Sorge, best spy ever) all found out about it and warned USA at various points over the war. Even China (still the Republic of China, not the People’s Republic) warned USA when they found a message about it in a downed Jap plane.
2. In SOME unclassified intercepted decoded Jap messages, references to Pearl Harbor could be found and a record of what ship enter and leaves the base.
3. Japanese Merchant Marine was alerted that wartime recognition signals would be in effect Dec 1.
4. On the day of the attack all Japanese International shippings were ordered back to port. (unclassified civilian actions could have been easily noticed by US military spys)
5. On the day of the attack, all USA cargo ships were given a DIFFERENT route, AWAY from the supposedly unknown attack route.
6. As mentioned, all the new ships and carriers were moved away from Pearl Harbor.
7. USA kept track of the Japanese Fleet’s movement, yet Pearl Harbor and the Hawaiian commanders were not given these infomations. (some report that they were given false information)
