Finally, 1 week after I finished the series, I took the time to watch this masterpiece. I will not review it since there is little left to say: Cowboy Bebop is amoung the greatest. The movie, much like Nadesic’s movie, managed to squeeze a hell lot of storyline and plot development into a 2 hour movie. This gives it an advantage over the series as a 30-minute episode is unable to fully allow the viewer to grasp the pyschological conflicts of the temporary characters. (however it still excelled at it compared to other animes, it has the only first episode of an anime that actually makes you feel sad when one of the characters died) The movie on the other hand, developed the temporary charaters so much that you almost feel they are part of the regular cast. And of course, the movie had a standard “Cowboy Bebop” ending: everything resolves, but leaves the viewer with a sense of sadness. (really, I swear that happens in 90% of the episodes)
Cowboy Bebop was truly the anime that created a new genre by itself.
