Made in Singapore

Holy crap! I was just surfing around the net and found out that Singapore actually manufactures WEAPONS! I thought we buy all our stuff from USA… -.- Link here.

Ordnance Development and Engineering (ODE) is a key component of the Weapons Group of Chartered Industries of Singapore.
Established in 1973, ODE is today the holding company for Ordnance Development and Engineering (1996). The Latter designs, manufactures, upgrades and services a wide range of infantry, armour and large-calibre weapon systems. All products are made in stringent compliance to U.S. and NATO specifications.

Most significantly, ODE has developed and produced the world’s lightest LMG (Light Machine Gun), the Ultimax-100, as well as the world’s first in-service 52-calibre artillery gun – the FH2000. We have since produced a string of industry best-sellers, one of which is the 40mm AGL (Automatic Grenade Launcher).

The sad thing is: I’ve never even heard of any of these guns in my life, except for the SAR-21 assault rifle. Also there seems to be only one company actually building the weapons. Other than Singapore Technologies Automotive, which produces Bionix (the lame APC), the biggest, and only other, Singaporean manufacturer is the Weapons Group of Chartered Industries Singapore. Preeeetty lame…
