Matrix

There isn’t enough space in the tagboard, so I’ll list out why the first Matrix movie is waaay better than the second movie in the short rant.

1. The second movie offered nothing new. Everything’s been done before 1000 times by either the first movie or its few billion rip-offs.
2. Pointless scenes that did not develop the plot. You can probably chop off enough footage to half the movie’s playtime and still show the whole plot.
3. The movie plays like an RPG game. “Go here for your next quest” “Find this guy for the quest item” and fight the thousands of bad guys on the way there.
4. Action sequences sandwitched by sleep-inducing scenes that lead to more action sequences.
5. Trinity still sucks.
6. Actually, almost all the faults were in the first movie too, but the most important thing that made the first movie great: FRESHNESS! When I watched the first movie, I was left with a sense of awe, a feeling of discovery as I found out what the matrix truely was. (luckily it was not spoilt for me before I saw the movie) When I watched the second movie, it was “meh”, “didn’t I see something like that before” and “deja vu”.

And the second movie had a poor ending. So there.
