[CJdude[20]] whoa
[SkRiBBleZ] ok that’s not cool
In case you don’t use IRC, here’s a lowdown on what happened. The channel they are in is #tvseries, which means that there are a few file servers in the channel that are probably serving illegal warez. This guy, SA_Williamson, (yes, FBI agents have to use their real names unless it’s an undercover job) came in and claimed to be from FBI, with a subpena. (yes, he spelt it wrongly, it is either subpoena or subpena, not supena) Knirch, one of the operators, naturally thought it was a joke and attempted to ban “*!*saw@*.lab.fbi.gov ” (people using the fbi.gov server) The other admin used the Invision script to check SA_Williamson and set mode -b just in time…
BTW, the !list command is a commonly-used trigger for fileservers.
Wow, apparently the cybercrime division FBI REALLY do something… Not that they are likely to arrest anyone in the above raid… Although I think that this might be a prank… FBI agents should spell better than that right? And spoofing your host name on IRC isn’t that difficult.
