Girls

Found the scans for Newtype’s top 100 anime girls of 2002. I’ll just list out and maybe comment on the ones from series I’ve watched… Warning: if I accidentally add in a spoiler or two, it’s not my fault. :P

1. Chii from Chobits (not really surprising… but personally I think there are better candidates…)
2. Mizuho-sensei from Onegai Teacher/Twins (pffft… Ichigo from the same series was waaay better. :P)
3. Aoi-chan from Ai Yori Aoshi (the second season is crap though… but more Aoi-chan is always a plus)
5. Mahoro from Mahoromatic (ecchi nano wa ikenai to omoimasu)
7. Osaka-san from Azumanga Daioh (I prefer Sakaki, but Osaka IS one of the important comedy element)
8. Chidori from Full Metal Panic (the first season was a good mecha anime, the second was pure comedy goodness. Chidori rocks!)
11. Chiyo-chan from Azumanga Daioh (pffft… didn’t really like her)
12. Teletha “Tessa” Testorrosa from Full Metal Panic (my favourite FMP character. I’m also preeetty sure I spelt her name wrongly)
13. Haruka from RahXephon (the unexpected love interest ;))
16. Robin from Witch Hunter Robin (Robin is sooo hot! If you watch the series you should either be laughing or vomiting blood at my joke, most likely the latter)
18. Sumomo from Chobits (WTF??!?!?)
19. Eclair from Kiddy Grade (Eclair + Lumiere = ?)
21. Sakaki from Azumanga Daioh (SHOULD BE HIGHER UP!!)
23. Ayu from Kanon (Mai > Nayuki > Ayu, although her “uguuu…” is unforgettable. BTW she died. lalala…)
24. Quon from RahXephon (came across as a Rei ripoff, but I still like her)
31. Mishima Reika from RahXephon (SHOULD BE HIGHER UP!! Wait, wasn’t she mentioned before?… Oh right… I shouldn’t spoil the plot)
32. Lacus Klein from Gundam SEED (SHOULD BE HIGHER UP!! mMMmmM… Shizuka na Yoru ni…)
35. Ichigo from Onegai Teacher/Twins (SHOULD BE A LOT HIGHER UP!! Can never forget her trademark “ufufu” laugh)
36. Dita from Vandread (uchuujin-saaaaan!!!)
38. Nayuki from Kanon (Should be higher than Ayu… sigh, why is Ayu the main love interest? uguuu…)
42. Victoria from Hellsing (master!…)
47. Meia from Vandread (my favourite Vandread character, should be higher than Dita…)
48. Captain Ramius from Gundam SEED (no objection… although it’s sad that her love died in the last fricking episode… oh wait, that was a spoiler…)
51. Cagali from Gundam SEED (ahhh… the love interest that turned out to be Kira’s sister… ops, another spoiler…)
52. Fllay from Gundam SEED (another of Kira’s love interest… mentally unstable me thinks. She died of course… ops…)
56. Herikawa from Onegai Teacher/Twins (one of the few characters I had to use AnimeNfo.com to find… didn’t leave much impression)
66. Ichigo from Tokyo Mew Mew (only read 2 volume of the manga… pfft, sucky plot)
67. Narusegawa Naru from Love Hina (I seldom like the main love interests and Naru’s no exception. Motoko > Naru)
70. Integral Hellsing from Hellsing (I thought she was a man at first. pfft, why else would people be calling her “Sir Integral” instead of Lady or Dame…)
71. Yuzuki from Chobits (yet another AnimeNfo.com search needed… didn’t leave much impression either)
77. Lumiere from Kiddy Grade (she should be listed somewhere near Eclair… oh yeah, both of them died)
78. Koyomi from Azumanga Daioh (oh noz! I gained 0.1 nanogram!)
81. Mitsuki from Full Moon wo Sagashite (only read one volume of the manga… so not much to say)
88. Mellisa Mao from Full Metal Panic (no comments)
93. Minawa-chan from Mahoromatic (Minawa-chan, ganbatte! Oh yeah, she works for the enemy)
95. Chitose Hibiya from Chobits (the mysterious kanrinrin-san from Chobits that turned out to be a very very important person…)

Baaah, that’s all the girls I can recognize… Pffft, need to watch more anime…

EDIT: BTW, I think other than Gundam SEED, the rest of the spoilers aren’t REAL spoilers, since they are only half true. G SEED, on the other hand, is fun so spoil because there are so many deaths at the most unexpected moments. Killing off a character when you least expected it and bringing back to life those people you couldn’t care less is a Gundam trademark, among other plotbombs… Like how Nicol got killed by Kira, Tolle got killed by Athrun, Klueze is actually the clone of Mwu Fllaga’s father, Kira didn’t die after Athrun self destructed both of them and instead was found and taken care of by Lacus, who was Athrun’s fiancee, after which they fall in love at a lightning speed of 1 episode me thinks, or maybe how the Earth Federation lured 80 percent of ZAFT’s forces into a dummy base and used a Gamma radiation weapon called Cyclops to kill everyone, oh yeah, Kira and Fllay had some quality time together… And the Tiger of Desert didn’t stay dead, although his wife sure did.

Now you know how I feel when someone spoilt D.N. Angel for me… well I least I choose Gundam SEED, which is quite predictable if you’ve seen ANY Gundam at all before…
