Laming

Wasted away the weekends doing absolutely NOTHING! I didn’t play any games, I watched like 5 episodes of anime max and I didn’t touch the textbooks at all! And common tests start on Tuesday! WOOHOO! I did expand my mp3 folder by around one gigabyte though. :D

And 3 hours wasted away today doing this: Clicky. See, my CD-R’s are in stacks and it’s very difficult for me to locate anything without flipping through every one of them… Plus the CD’s are mostly labelled as “[title] Disc [no .]”, so I have no idea what the contents are… I made this in Excel as a searchable database so I can find individual files faster…

Now I can fail my tests with no regrets. :P

BTW, I got a 8x DVD+-RW Drive! :D The installation was a pain to my back… but it was worth it. Well one thing still not working though: the button of the internal drive doesn’t seem to match up with the one outside on the casing… I have to manually eject the tray with Windows or Alcohol… When I have the time I’ll take it apart again (*shudders at the thought of unplugging and replugging all that cables*) to see if anything’s wrong. Most likely I’ll have to move it to another slot and push the plastic cover for that part out. That will look somewhat ugly though since the colour of the internal drive doesn’t match the casing… Baah, maybe I’ll just leave it this way; not like I’m going to use that drive everyday. CD-R/W’s still burn faster (52x woohoo) with my old burner which can also read all CD and DVD formats, meaning the new drive is really only needed for DVD burning.

Now I have a spare less-than-one-year-old DVD drive (read-only, supports all CD and DVD formats including DVD-RAM) because there aren’t enough power cables for three optical disc drives… although there are waaay more than enough slots in the case. (enough for 4 disc drives and 8 HDD)

I really need to get a splitter for my power cable so I can put all these extra things back it. One CD drive, one Sumsung DVD drive and one 40gb Maxtor HDD… Well at least the HDD, I need every bit of diskspace I can get…
