Surprise

Wow, just wow. I found a non-spam mail in my darkmirage.com inbox today. A truely impressive achievement. After browsing through 6 pages of spam.

Hi~ I am Rikka~ I found your forum where you post all the lyrics you had from a certain LiveJournal~ Well, I was looking at the Konomini lyrics for the opening theme “metamorphose” and I noticed that you had stated you that there was a word missing in the English translation, because you didn’t know what “hirari” meant. I think that word is actually “kirari”, instead of “hirari”, and I listened to the song a few times over to make sure I wasn’t mistaken~ I know little Japanese, but from what I remember, “kirari” could mean “shiny”, “brilliant (as a reference to light/sunlight, not intelligence)”, “sparkly”, “shimmering”, “radiant”, etc. You get the picture. I hope this helps~ Sorry if I may be annoying you with all of this~ Just wanting to help~

Now ignoring that piece of info about it being in a LiveJournal, I’m happy that people actually bother reading my site. Luckily the mail title was “Kono Minikuku Mo Utskushii Sekai – “metamorphose” Lyrics Comment~” because I usually mass delete any mail with ambigious titles. (like “hi” and whatnot)

And to defend my honour, (I kid, I kid) here’s the scan for that stanza. Fear my photoshop highlighting skillz:

Yes it’s a sucky scan. The colour in real-life is closer to grey than blue. Damn scanner. Well I have to apologize to the sender because in the reply I stated that hirari was in katakana. Apparently it wasn’t. (next time I’ll check first…) But it’s still clearly hirari… so, let’s wait for someone else to figure it out. And she did sing “hirari” in the song, although I can see how it might be interpretated as “kirari”. Actually now that I think about it, “hirari to maiodoru” means to dance with hirari. Hirari IS a name… but then again it won’t make any sense to suddenly mention a name.
