Snow

Couldn’t find the time to log on. It’s been a busy week. >_< ; We just had a video conference through MSN with my cousin in France. MSN Messenger works better than I expected. He changed quite a bit. Barely recognized him other than his voice. And for those of you who are curious, I wasn’t kidding about his French girlfriend. I’ve been eating out nearly every night. Large extended family = a lot of people to entertain. I’m not complaining though. Lots of people = lots of pocket money. Everyone gives red packets in the hundreds and thousands. (depending on whether RMB or USD is used) I went to my second cousin’s (barely recognizable) house on Tuesday and played with his Nintendo DS. The dual screens are quite impressive, but the N64-era graphics are not… Yesterday, I went to Zhujiang Road, also known as the electronic district of Nanjing. A lot of stores weren’t opened yet, but the pirates were out in full force. 3 to 5 Renminbi for one disc. Didn’t buy much though, since I’m mostly out of touched with the latest games now. I did manage to find Eien no Aseria, SakuTai 1-3 and some misc games I’ve been looking for. (well hidden deep within the mountains of CDs) There’s still a 50/50 chance of whether they will work… Speaking of which, manga is hard to find as hell here, so I gave up. Anime VCD/DVDs are everywhere, though none of them are legit. The ones on the roadsides are bootlegs (the kind they don’t even sell on Ebay), while the “legit” ones in nice-looking video stores are better-packaged bootlegs (the kind they sell on Ebay). Despite the lack of manga, anime is surprisingly popular here. There are at least six or seven regular publications on them. And let me just say… TO HELL WITH NEWTYPE USA. o/ The publications here are on level with Japanese ones. The extras that come with them, beats anything USA publications give. Two more days till I’m back in Singapore. The weather here is… still cold. It even snowed yesterday and the day before. Snow doesn’t seem like a big deal this time, even though I haven’t seen any for nearly seven years. Reaching home at around 8 to 9pm on Monday. I forgot to bring my Chinese study materials here so I’m pretty much screwed for Tuesday’s Chinese test. T_T
