Akihabara

I’m currently at the GeraGera Manga Cafe in Akihabara. 400 yen at hour for manga and internet access. Running out of cash soon. My current loot count is about 15 CD’s (most of which are second hand), 5 gashapon, 2 posters, 2 handphone straps (Stellar!), some Comiket merchandizes, an Evangelion doujinshi compilation, “Air” movie guide (watched it in a cinema near the hotel yesterday), and a Ghost in the Shell Standalone Complex T-shirt. I should probably stop buying CD’s… But they are so cheap here (not counting HMV). Some of them are even first print. (Yakumo image CD from School Rumble!!)

Besides buying stuff, eating costs a lot too. I think McDonald’s has got to be the cheapest place to eat here, at around 600 yen a meal. Cafe Mai:lish charges 1200 yen for one piece of hamburger meat, a little vegetables, a small cup of soup and two buns. Their current theme for the week is Mabinogi, a new MMORPG by Nexon that is currently in Beta testing. Cosplay cafes aside, even a normal ramen shop in Shinjuku charges 1000 yen for a bowl of prawn ramen.

I’m hoping to attend the School Days promotional event at LaOX Asobit City later.

Flying home tomorrow. Lots of unstarted homework. Damn.
