Da Capo II

Continuing from yesterday’s short post about D.C. II and Nanaka Shirakawa. The latest September 2005 issue of Comptiq (コンプティーク) has exclusive information on the upcoming sequel to Da Capo.

The cover has a picture of Nanaka Shirakawa and the accompanying text says “Exclusive scoop! Presenting the new heroine: Shirakawa Nanaka!”

This two pages serve as the introduction to the D.C. series and the new sequel. D.C. II is set 53 years after the first game. It still takes place on Hatsune-jima, where the unwithering sakura trees once again bloom. Presumably the new characters appearing are all grandchildren of the characters from the original game. (53 years?!!!)

The same page also introduces one of the characters, Yume Asakura (朝倉由夢). The magazine speculates that she might be the granddaughter of Jun’ichi. 2nd-year student in Fuumi Gakuen Fuzoku (風見学園付属), which is the school Jun’ichi and Nemu attended. The rest of the characters are on the next two pages.

Starting from right to left.

Otome Asakura (朝倉音姫), the elder sister of Yume. She is a 2nd-year student in Fuumi Gakuen Honkou (風見学園本校), which is the associated high school of Fuumi Gakuen Fuzoku. Interesting to note that Nemu’s name is written as 音夢 (“sound” + “dream”). Yume (由夢) inherited the “dream” and Otome inherited the “sound”. lol.

Minatsu Amakase (天枷美夏), the granddaughter of Miharu?!? (Wasn’t Miharu a robot?) Anyway, she is the complete opposite of Miharu. Most evidently: She hates bananas. And another note for the name: Miharu is written as 美春 (“beautiful spring”) while Minatsu is 美夏 (“beautiful summer”). Also, she’s a classmate of Yume.

Nanaka Shirakawa (白川ななか). 3rd-year student of Fuumi Gakuen Fuzoku, making her one year older than Yume. Is she the granddaughter of Kotori or of her sister…? Hmmm… She likes to play tricks and hates studying… That’s quite unlike Kotori. ;_; She likes hats though. Not much to note for the name, except that Kotori’s given name is also written in hiragana instead of kanji.

Anzu Yukimura (雪村杏). She’s a member of the acting club. 3rd-year Fuumi Gakuen Fuzoku…which makes her older than Yume. Her family name is not related to any D.C. characters. Reminds me of Ichigo from the Onegai series… Note: 杏 = apricot.

Koko Tsukishima (月島小恋). 3rd-year at Fuumi Gakuen Fuzoku. Likes oranges (…) and fortune-telling. Again, not related to any previous D.C. characters. Weird name.
