God bless RIAS.
A trio of dirty, filthy pirates have been arrested in Singapore for sharing MP3 music with each other and with other impressionable youths. The RIAS-led-Singapore’s answer to the RIAA-sting operation nabbed some of the hugest music pirates on the entire island nation after the organization repeatedly told the pirates to stop trading files over Internet chat rooms.
This is a dark day indeed for pirates everywhere. As we all have noticed, there are considerably fewer MP3s available today than there were yesterday thanks to the fleet and sexy Singapore police force. The real stinger?
Under Singapore’s toughened laws against music piracy that came into effect in 2005, the three could face jail terms of up to five years and fined as much as 100,000 Singapore dollars (60,606 US).
You can really tell which side the folks at Gizmodo are on. ;) LMAO
