Ouch

Returned home with a huge hole in my pocket today. Kinokuniya really knows how to make money… Stupid Furigana-English dictionary cost 33 dollars, and somehow I was conned into buying the Onegai Teacher novel. It’s ok and all, but it was clearly made for those who have seen the anime. Kind of like extra non-visual fan-services if you get what I mean… They conveniently left out almost everything done in the anime and choose to focus on the parts that got cut from the series due to airtime constrains… basically if you have not seen the anime, you would wonder how come their relationship developed so far at the end of the book. Also, it has HORRIBLE HORRIBLE editors who do NOT understand the difference between “their” and “they’re”.

Gah. Walking around the manga section of Kinokuniya is like walking into a candy shop with only enough money for one candy. ZzzzzZZZzzz… Also, I forgot to see if they stock PC Gamer there, haven’t had the chance to get the latest issue.

Anyway if you are wondering why I was outside instead of slouching in front of my PC, I went to see the eye doctor… Turns out my eyesight isn’t as bad as I thought. In fact, my right eye was actually classified as “normal sighted”! Wow! However, I have Exotropia (acronym: XT) which means, according to acronym finder: divergent strabismus; outward turning of one or both eyes; aka walleyed. Yup, basically I can keep one of my eyes (the right eye) focused on an object while still be able to move my left eye in other directions. (no, it’s NOT a good thing) Hohoho, apparently this wasn’t VERY common, so all the trainees in the whole goddamn clinic came to get first hand experiences of making me stare at a optical target and see my pupils move. I feel like a lab rat… >_< Oh yeah, before they figured out I was extropic, the nurse/trainee/newbie who was trying to guage my degrees almost went nuts. Apparently from what I can gather, I was giving her contradicting information about which lens looked clearer. She actually said “Do you understand what is clearer?” LoLz. I don’t know why, maybe it was due to the extropia, anyway I swear I really did tell the truth, but really, the difference is so minute between the lens that it is hard to tell which can be called “clearer”. (sometimes they are just blurry in a different way… lol) Anywayz, in the end my left eye is 250 degrees myopic while my right eye is normal. Have to wear glasses… Oh well, can’t say I wasn’t expecting this after sitting in front of my computer for so many years…
