Kotori’s Chance?

Da Capo

Newtype December has spoilers for D.C.S.S. up to episode 23. Episode 20 to 22 are basically about Aisia and Sakura (one entire month worth of things I don’t care for). However, it seems that Kotori finally gets back into the race in episode 23. Woohoo!

沈黙の夏

これまでことりや美春たちは、純一と音夢の恋人としての関係を祝福し、応援しようとしてきた。しかし、彼女たちの気持ちに、少しずつ変化が現れる。

Quick and crappy translation.

Silent Summer

Kotori, Miharu and the others have been giving their blessings and support to Jun’ichi and Nemu’s relationship as lovers. However, changes are slowly taking place in the hearts of these girls.

Sounds like the story climax that I’ve been talking about. Now there are only two paths left for the producers: follow the predictable ending used by the first season, thus disappointing Kotori fanboys like me for the second time, and risk having your little studio burned down to the ground, or go with Kotori and be able to sleep without having to worry for your lives.

Bah, it’s hopeless. Looks like I have to start saving up for a plane ticket and a copy of the Anarchist Guidebook…

    There’s still hope… there’s still hope… ;_;

Sometimes, I just feel like sitting through (at the cost of a few million brain cells) Da Crapo, just to get what you’re all saying.

Pffft. Heathens are not welcome. D:

  6. Searcher says:

I do believe that kotori will win, because all the second season the relationship between jun’ichi and nemu seems so platonic, no kisses no hugs etc.

If kotori doesn’t win, i will join you to japan with a tank of gas and a lighter!

  7. SniperB says:

I hope kotori wins, after all incest = bad (even though they arent blood related but rather they are still siblings by the law ,if u know what i mean).

Kotori rules!I’ll help u burn the studio in japan if she doesnt win lol. plus her songs are nice in the original Da Capo

  8. moguu says:

incest = bad? never! (well, only in real life when there are consequences to inbreeding and whatnot) besides, as you yourself pointed out, they’re not *real* siblings (yeah they can’t legally marry, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be happy without being officially married

nemu winning might be predictable, but it’s predictable because its what naturally follows. this isn’t a horror/suspense anime, there need not be twists and surprise endings. kotori maturing beyond her fixation on the first boy she was ever able to open up to is a better ending than some act of god splitting up nemu and junichi and sticking kotori with them

  9. DarkMirage says:

Let’s not talk about incest then. From an economical (and survival) point of view, the creator stands to please more fans (more pleased fans = more people buy game = more merchandize-ing = no burned-down studio) with a Kotori ending. D: A lot of people (like me) *hate* Nemu, but hardly anyone really hates Kotori.

  10. searcher says:

it doesn’t matter for me that they aren’t “real” siblings, they grew up as brother and sister! They should have looked out and protected each eather.

Since when did jun’ichi/nemu decided that they love their brother/sister.

What message is that for their children, that you can love your brother/sister!

  11. AznSoulBoy says:

YAH!! LETS HOPE FOR A GOOD ENDING WITH KOTORI AND JYUNCHI =0. and ill join the tank gaz too haha. whatever. i dunno what to say anyway. i know kotori stills have a chance ;D

  12. firebrand says:

man, i hope kotori wins this one out. here’s to hoping nemu gets run over by a mack truck.

  13. Ale says:

    Episode 24’s name is “Oath”.

    I dunno if it’s this, but…

…if the declaration of war coming from the DCSG manga happens SO late in the series and somehow gets magically resolved within 25 and 26…I’m honestly going to lol.

That said…Kotori ending up with that idiot, not necessary, as long as she gets over her crush and is happy that’s fine. But there’s the whole fact that I’m such a Nemu hater that, even if it wasn’t well done, a non-Nemu ending would make up for the other stuff I disliked in this series. ^^

  14. Searcher says:

i don’t think that jun’ichi will magicaly fall in love with kotori, will be a cheap ending.
And for kotori moving on with her life and being happy, that ending sucks big time, because it will still feel like she(we) lost.

I can’t see this deal ending in just 4 more episodes. I just can’t. Hope producers have some OVAs in mind, cause rushing to end a super-duper-complicated plot in 4 eps brings disappointment to my mind.
