Hare Hare Yukai: 100,000 copies sold

Chibi Haruhi!

From animate.tv:

Lazy DM’s condensed translation:

Recording Industry Association of Japan announced on 10 August that “Hare Hare Yukai” has sold 100,000 copies and has been awarded the “Gold Certified Product Award” (or some silly name like that). RIAJ grades CDs into categories like Gold and Platinum according to the sales. “Hare Hare Yukai” sold 100,000 copies in two months from its release on 10 May.

And yes, I do plan on sticking Chibi Haruhi into every single post related to her from now on. :3

LOL. A change in taste, huh? ;)

  3. Chuck says:

am i the only one that found those songs horribly annoying after listening to them like 3 times? its beyond me how it sold that many copies, as i would compare it to nails on a chalkboard. i mean no offense to the people who like it, but how it sold 100k records is beyond me.

According to Wikipedia, the threshold for the awards are 100,000 copies for Gold, 250,000 for Platina. (Full list: http://www.golddisc.jp/)
And according to this not so much anime discs achieved to collect such awards.

Chuck: I think it’s Aya Hirano love manifesting itself. Besides, you’re probably listening to the wrong songs if they’re driving you up the wall. Hare Hare Yukai’s nice on occasion, but there’s better things to listen to, IMO.

  6. Ronin says:

Props to Rasqual for the trivia nugget! (^-^)_b
