The next in line after Haruhi, Mikuru gets the Max Factory treatment. Preorders are open for this PVC figure of the loli-moé SOS-dan member. Sadly, judging by the preorder status, it doesn’t seem to be doing so good. I guess Haruhi is a tough act to follow.
I can’t exactly place my finger on any particular spot, but the figure doesn’t feel Mikuru the way Max Factory Haruhi radiates off a Haruhi aura. Maybe I am just bias. The figure retails for ï¿¥4,800.
Speaking of 1/6 1/8 Max Factory Haruhi, HobbyLink Japan has reopened preorders for it. They have also posted the exact number of units they will be getting: 20 for the February batch, 30 for the April batch and enough stock in June to fulfill the remaining orders. I think I have a good chance of getting the April if not the February batch considering I ordered relatively early.

Yeah, this is a weird one.. because the extroverted pose doesn’t really match the worried face.. of course you could assume the context is that Haruhi is forcing Mikuru to do it wit threats of expired food, but it still seems kinda off somehow.
Probably would have been better off just going for a generic pretty look.. or going the other route and keeping the face but going with an uncertain pose

I must agree concerning the mismatch of the face and pose.
This is the least objectionable Mikuru face I’ve seen, but it just doesn’t look right with the face. Besides, with that arm pose, she should have one eye color different.

Upcoming Yuki beats this piece by far. Though I need at least one Mikuru to fill the “cast hole”, maybe I’ll snatch the Kaiyodo one.
How often does HLJ update their pre-order catalog? There are a few things I want to pre-order, but they’re not up on their site yet. Or is there are better place to pre-order stuff that is in English?

The face is a tad too long to be properly Mikuru’s – hers was more rounded than that… which made her look danged cute. Maybe that’s what got you? The proportions are a tad off.
Yeah, I wished they gave Mikuru a normal looking face as well. I think there’s another model where she’s serving tea looks much better.
Does anyone know if Max Factory plans on creating a Kyon and Itsuki figures? I want the whole SOS Brigade
