I don’t like to give spoilers because I think they ruin the experience, but episode 13 is basically one huge spoiler, so it’s kind of difficult to talk about it without revealing anything. As such, I have decided to skip the episode summary this time.
The new Claymore This is the most awesome Code Geass episode in the second season so far. No kidding. It has comedy, tension, revelations, drama, reunions, heart-warming moments and a cliffhanger all packaged into one convenient 24-minute episode. It just goes to show that the series only works when it takes itself half seriously.
“Where’s my pizza?” It’s cool now guys. Code Geass is back from the dead. As Pierce Brosnan would say if he were an anime otaku blogging about Code Geass: It lives to die another day. Okay, so it’s not perfect, but at least we are free of this particular uninspired story arc and on to [...]
Zero and the Black Knights make off with the Empress, but their escape is blocked by Xingke. I am of the opinion that the writers for the series are secretly taking a long break in Hawaii and the current story arc is actually being written by the office janitor.
This happens way too little in real life After last week’s break, episode 9 is finally here! I find this episode’s plot logically defective but the character interactions melodramatically delightful, so on the whole the episode is sufficiently entertaining. Hey, it’s like I just described 90% of Sunrise’s works.
This isn’t FFVII; stop spelling it Yuffie At the end of episode 7, Zero accepted Nunnally’s offer, much to the surprise of everyone else. Knowing Lelouch, we all know that there must be a catch somewhere. And there is. I like episode 8 because the twist was expected and quite hilarious. Although it may have [...]
Poor Lelouch has lost his sole purpose in life, rejected by his loli sister whom he secretly lusts for. But it’s all right because he manages to find a new one by the end of the episode. Hurray!
Not my favourite episode. I think the character dynamics is somewhat lacking this time, and the battle scene wasn’t all that exciting either. I think it’s about time Sunrise winds down the series a notch before it runs out of momentum, and start laying the groundwork for a grander set-up. This week’s raw was slightly [...]
Code Geass episode 5 reminds me of Full Metal Panic, except with a more sinister undertone and outrageous fashion senses. I quite like the blend of comedy and tragedy that’s playing out, and the fan-baiting that goes on is so honestly blatant that one can’t help but find it oddly charming. Bravo.
Looks like this will be the last high tension episode before we return to a more peaceful interlude. As expected, Lelouch manages to turn the entire situation around to his advantage without breaking too many drops of sweat. I mean, you didn’t really think he was going to die, right?
It’s episode 3 and we have more plot twists! I wonder how long this can last. Surely it can’t be too long now before Sunrise runs out of surprises to throw at us and drops the ball by revealing that the ultimate villain character is actually Nunnally. It’s quite interesting how the main characters in [...]
Because fangirl pandering is (sometimes) awesome. Code Geass R2 isn’t slowing down the pace just yet. Episode 2 is non-stop action, drama and fanservice, with a few familiar cameos to prepare the viewers for what will surely be unstoppable mayhem intertwined with intentionally misplaced comedic moments. Sunrise should concentrate more on doing this kind of [...]
