The cardinal laws of Gundam story-telling: When things go wrong, it just means that it’s time to throw new Gundams at them, and when animators fall behind schedule, it’s time to do a recap episode and disguise it as real content.
This is one predictable episode. I mean, the title “Broken Wings” pretty much spoils any element of suspense that Sunrise’s scriptwriters can possibly muster, assuming they try at all. So yeah, the Gundams all get owned in a spectacular fashion, clearing the way for newer and better Gundams to take over the mess. G00, like most [...]
This episode is quite interesting. It’s a build-up for the huge battle that is coming soon, so there’s a whole bunch of talking and I like talking episodes, as long as it’s not mostly teenage angst. There are some new characters and background information about the G00 universe being introduced, and also, we have the new [...]
Oww. My head is spinning. I think I’ve been sleeping too much these days after coming back from Japan. Episode 13 serves to conclude the Azadistan chapter, laying the way for the new OP/ED next episode.
This episode is pretty awesome because it does not have 10 minutes of contrived Allelujah emo, and it has some politics and background information about the world of Gundam 00! I love those. And of course, like all the other good episodes, Ms. Wang changes into a new dress. How deep does the rabbit hole go? [...]
Yet another boring episode. I think someone should ban Sunrise from making any “character development” episodes because frankly I don’t give a damn about the Gundam Meisters. In fact, let’s just turn all the Gundams into unmanned weapon systems that are controlled by Veda through mesh networking!
Eh. I think this is the kind of episode that most people would enjoy. It has some fighting (lame), character development (lame) and plot development (what plot?), all the jazz that people claim to watch Gundam for. But I didn’t really like it. It’s boring and doesn’t really invoke any feelings. I almost fell asleep translating [...]
This episode is a pretty good one because we are finally seeing some semblance of actual combat tactics being employed. Also, it has some character development for Felt, which is good. (But maybe not. Refer to the last line of this entry.) It’s a Haro harem! Louise and Saji do make an appearance in this episode, but [...]
I’ve been busy with various things since Saturday morning and only just managed to watch episode 8. Off topic, but everyone should watch Freedom. Jiyuu wo tsukame! Fanservice dissemination at maximum output I like this episode. It keeps everything I hate to a minimum. Namely: Saji’s ignorance and Setsuna’s angst.
This whole episode was bullshit. HD bullshit with pretty beam weapons and better animation than episode 6, but still bullshit. Anyway, the final line by Amuro Ray the narrator did manage to catch my attention for about five seconds. Which is amazing because the line doesn’t even last that long. 「刹那、運命の人と出会う。」 “Setsuna meets the person of his [...]
I have EJU tomorrow morning so I’m going to make this quick, hopefully. Gah, curse man’s need to sleep. Gundam 00 episode 6 introduces the European nation of Moralia, new equipments for Gundam Dynames and Exia and a new foe.
I don’t really like episode 5. It has zero politics and way too much Louise. Oh my god, what an annoying girl. “I have no fashion sense.” The episode does reveal a few things which I will talk about… But mostly it’s predictable fluff. And the next episode looks like Exia-pwnage galore… Sigh, where’s my politics? :(
