After finishing my homework, I continued my quest for the ever-elusive Evangelion game…X_x First, I checked Gainax online again for good measures and they still have the “NOTICE: The Shipment for Abroad was Closed.” crap on the front of their online shop…curses…maybe I should dial their hotline and beg them to ship here…

Then I checked ebay, still only have Sega Saturn versions…

I tried yahoo (basically google, but I can HOPE can’t I?), google, altavista, the built-in MSN search and even some other search engines that should have gone bankrupt long ago…And they got NOTHING. I found at most THREE webpages, including an ebay one, selling Iron Maiden Sega Saturn, but none for the PC or even PS version…I even tried google.co.jp and yahoo.co.jp using the DAMN Jap version of the title but all I get is stores selling Iron Maiden/Girlfriend of Steel TWO for PS2. CURSES! And speaking of PS2, like I have warned others before, I kill when I hear PS2 or FFX mentioned. Actually that’s a bit illogical on my part since I HAVE saved up enough for PS2 and FFX already, but now I don’t know if I still want to buy them…stupid fate…stupid Sony…stupid Square…

Oh and about Sega Saturn emulators…apparently there is only ONE fricking Sega Saturn emulator capable of running commercial game in this whole world and it’s a commercial product. Suuure, I don’t mind paying 20 dollars or more if it LETS ME! Not only is the whole damn site in Japanese, but after I painstakingly look through DICTIONARIES to roughly understand what it can do, one single statement killed all hopes: Japanese version of Windows is required. Great fricking hell.

So now I’m just going to buy a fricking sealled Sega version of Iron Maiden for 17 dollars including shipping and keep it locked in my drawer. Hopefully one day one of the free, english emulators will be able to do a bit more than just letting me read the copyright info and the header of the disc or the into sequence…At least I’ll get to see all the pretty pictures on the box and manual…

I am NOT going to buy a Sega Saturn. *must not give in*
1. Most of the units being auctioned are US versions. A modchip will be needed to play a Jap game.
2. The power supply cable will most likely not work with Singapore voltage. I know, I short-circuited a US power adapter before.
3. There is nothing else on Sega Saturn that I want to play…

Argh! Someone send me a free Saturn…or even better, point me to a place that sells Iron Maiden for PC…

And one more reason I hate Gainax: they screwed with Samejimi Mamimi from FLCL like they did to Asuka from Evangelion. (although not as badly, anyway, I never did like Asuka) Mamimi was my favourite character until she turned all…weird and unbalanced. Jeeezzz…does all the Gainax animes have to end with the main characters being screwed up? And don’t make me go into how F-ed up the main character, Naota, was. (ok, not really. He was messed up like Shinji. In other words: not as bad as Asuka) Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh…

BTW, WATCH FLCL. It’s so good, you will want to watch it again and again. (or maybe because you didn’t understand it, and have to rewatch it) Again, I have to comment on the fact that FLCL’s plot is driven by reeeeally minute details, like what Space 2001 did…except a lot crazier and funnier…(funny until you get to the heart-wrenching episode…)
