Bored

Jeez…nothing to do…bored…
Nexon still haven’t moved my character down, even though the website database says that my character is in Uprising, the 500 times I’ve logged on since last night still landed me on Morgana Prime…
Played ET the whole morning and had enough of it today.
Iron Maiden won’t arrive for a few centuries.

Now the only options left are: movie, homework or Playstation. Homework and Playstation are out…since I’m too lazy to do any thinking and too sick of all the PS games I have. The only movie currently showing at Jubilee that might be REMOTELY interesting is Legally Blonde 2…I am SERIOUSLY thinking of getting a new console…

GameCube is out since I get bored of playing games too fast, so it will probably take me a few days to run out of game…(no, really. Almost all the good games are 1st-party made) And it does not have CD and DVD playback…

X-Box is out since the only interesting games (that are not also available for PC) are Mech Assault, Shenmue 2 and Halo, and Halo is coming out of PC. (although I REALLY liked the original Shenmue for my dead Dreamcast) Not to mention the X-Box is huuuuuuuge and the DVD playback feature needs you to cough up more cash for them.

That leaves PlayStation 2…the oldest and best-selling of the bunch…It has built-in DVD playback and quite a lot of games…Hmmmmm…It also has backwards support for PS games.

Or I could wait for Phantom to come out. The console that has people debating on whether it exists or not. Kind of like the Atari Jaguar except that the Jaguar DID came out, only it sold so badly that most people have never seen one. Apparently Phantom is created by infiniumlabs, a company with a very Flash-y site. The official Phantom website seems to be down right now…Anyway the gist is that the console is super powerful and has no CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. It uses a broadband connection to download and store games in its harddrive. This means no piracy as users can only buy games through the official site. Obviously such a concept sounds too impossible and the cool-looking streaming video only make even more people helieve that it’s a scam…sure, it showed us that the people at infiniumlabs have mad skillz with 3D graphics, but we don’t even get to see the console itself! All the images are 3D renders. The game menu screen also revealled nothing concrete. And as if they have nothing else to show, the 30 seconds of the video is just text flying around saying something around the lines of “Buy Phantom or DIE!!!” and “Phantom is soooo good, in what way we are not sure”.

Gahh…I think I’m getting a PS2. Huge hole for my pocket though. Maybe a Gameboy Advance is a better option…speaking of hand-held, Wonderswan sure died fast.
