Apparently anyone who knows how to use winipcfg and check Network settings can be a technician for Starhub’s cable service. WTF? That guy didn’t even know what is a “driver” or “BIOS”. Heck, he had problems figuring out how to plug in the replacement modem he brought. Oh yah, the only advice he could give me that I have NOT already tried 100 times over is to upgrade to Windows XP. WTF? If this problem cannot be solved by today, I am soooo switching ISP, plus a complain to SCV.
UPDATE: Now he can think of nothing else so he suggested changing the LAN card… Oh well, worth a try, although I seriously doubt that’s the problem since winipcfg is working correctly.
UPDATE 2: Wow, surprise, surprise. He couldn’t find ANYTHING wrong with it at all! The only consolation was that there was no service charge. I guess now it’s time for my last desperate attempt, excuse me while I go locate the drivers of around 20000 things so that I can format my C: and reinstall Windows. Oh yeah, did I mention I have 25gb of anime on my C: and only 10gb of free space on my D: drive? This calls for a LOT of CD-RW/CD-R’s.
UPDATE 3: w00t! I’m online from my own com right now!! Muahahaha. Sure, I’m in 800 x 600 with only 256 colours and I can’t find the drivers for my scanner. Sure, I have to redownload a lot of programs. Sure I lost 20gb of anime. But dammit, at least I’m online. T_T ZzzzZZ Excuse me, now I have to reconfigure a whole lot of crap.
