Arisu

Been sneezing the whole day. The rainy season is here again… ;_; (I hate 1. to carry umbrellas and 2. sneezing)

However it’s all ok! Because I found a 128cbr copy of Maaya’s Shounen Alice Unplugged! It’s a special 55-minutes long radio broadcast that was aired on several Japanese stations. You get to hear the team tune their instruments while Maaya sings a few short tunes. Maaya talks about herself, her new album, Shounen Alice, and then introduces the members of the team. They are:

Percussion: Mataro Misawa
Bass: Watanabe Hitoshi
Violin: Kuwano Hijiri
Guitar: Imahori Tsuneo
Piano: Kanno Yoko
(sp?)

Yoko Kanno (I’ll follow the english arrangement of names since this is the version usually used in romanized japanese names) is probably the most well-known one in the group. She did many many many pieces for many many many series (like every single piece in Ghost in the Shell Standalone Complex) and also a lot of Maaya’s songs. If you want to hear some of her works, look for her album “23 Ji no Ongaku”. (Music of the 23rd Hour) Most of them are non-vocals except three which are sang by Maaya.

Then the singing begins. The first song was Tune the Rainbow. It sounds quite different (mainly the accompanying music) from the album version, especially since there were some errors, (well you can’t blame them, the album was too perfect :P) but it’s still very nice. :) I’m thinking of ripping the songs sang and making individual mp3s with them. Here’s a complete list of the songs:

Tune the Rainbow (from Rahxephon movie)
Danieru (Danielle? Daniel? I have seen both as the names… what you get for writing english names in katakana)
Makiba Alice (Farm(?) Alice. from Shounen Alice)
Yoru (Evening… or maybe Night? from Shounen Alice)
Kingfisher Girl (from Shounen Alice)
Hikari Are (There is Light, or something like that… from Shounen Alice)
Uchuu Hikoushi no Uta (Astronaut’s Song. Also from Shounen Alice)

There are some short dialouges between the songs and you get to hear Yoko Kanno’s high pitch voice! (she was talking about cookies or something near the beginning and sometimes talk to other intrumentist in between songs)

One more entry to my collection. :P

UPDATE: Yet another Penny-Arcade strip on InfiniumLabs: The Precise Location of Villainy. LoL. And of course, Infinium Labs Vs. HardOCP – Round 2.
