It’s been a crazy week with tests or assignments due everyday. Almost ending soon…
A lot of teachers like to set datelines for assignments near the end of the term because they are under the misimpression that they will receive works of higher quality by doing so. This is completely untrue, because few people actually start working on the thing the night or two nights before the deadline (or even after the deadline), which means that you get the same thing either way. The few people who actually do work the intended way and distribute their work evenly would have done just as good even if they were given a shorter period of time to work with, while the majority who don’t give crap still do it on the last day even if you give us an entire month.
This creates a huge problem near the end of the term. Instead of having one assignment due per week or two over the entire term, all our deadlines fall on the last two weeks of the term because all the teachers think that it gives us more time to work on them. But since we actually only work on the assignment during the same week the deadline falls on (and that’s a best-case scenario we are talking about here), this means that we sometimes have to do about three or four assignments in one week alone. (after wasting away most of the term)
Teachers should stop deluding themselves and trusting us to manage our time correctly…
