According to the end of episode 6 of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu, episode 7 (episode 8 chronogically) will be 「ミステリックサイン〠(Mysteric Sign).
This confirms my prediciton that episode 8 comes from the middle of book 3, which was between either the chapter 「笹ã®è‘‰ãƒ©ãƒ—ソディ〠(Sasanoha Rhapsody) or 「ミステリックサイン〠(Mysteric Sign).
Now if everything follows, the anime shouldn’t go beyond the fourth novel, which may mean a possible sequel…?
You can bet I’d do anything for a sequel.
Same here…… the episode jump was pretty drastic though. We need more Haruhi!!!
Great news if it turns out that way, only since Kanon is 26 episodes long, it’ll be over 6 months before any sequel sees light of day.
If they want to wrap it up, they’ll need a sequel. I’m hoping for something like Genshiken or Honey and Clover, where the animators decide to do a sequel because the original generated enough interest/profit for them to want to wrap up/continue the series.
If Haruhi is as popular in Japan as it is on the internet, it’ll most probably get a sequel.
What’s with the sudden jumps? This zOMfG series is complicated enough… why torture us with story jumps and such?
As I’ve explained before… Yuuutsu is the only novel with a proper story that lasts for more than 2 chapters. If you follow the timeline and end up covering the whole of Yuuutsu in less than half the series, you will end up with a bunch of short stories for the remaining half of the series… which will make for a pretty lame ending for the anime.
Well that’s true, but… a better consistence-checking would be indeed appreciated (Koizumi in 4 and the now-forever-unsolved murder of 6 kinda bother me now… ma, then I’ll read the novels or something).
Uh, the Remote Island Syndrome episode will be continued soon… the episode title says “First Part” for a reason. Itsuki’s revelation will also be continued in the next part of Yuuutsu, whichever episode that is. I’m guessing the episode after next is the conclusion of Remote Island Syndrome and the episode after that is Yuuutsu IV.
Let’s hope so… reading the novel was so much fun. I’d hate to see an amazing story like that being ripped and twisted because of unknown reasons.
