Disclaimer: I work for Mendoi-Conclave. In fact, I translated episode 2 of Gundam 00 due to circumstances (although I won’t be doing main translation for future episodes). Anyway, here are two screenshots.
The top on is from episode 2’s raw while the bottom one is from our awesomerific (I’m using this word a lot recently) 1280×720 release. (It’s worth the extra 170MB!) Can’t see the difference? Click on them to see the bigger version.
And that is why we were slower than the other groups for episode 2. We’ll be faster next time. :P

Heh, thanks for your feedback its always nice that people appreciate the little things that take a lot of time to do. To be honest I was really reluctant to do that sign since it lasts for less than 5 secs and the who actually notices stuff like that to pause their media player and read what it says. But in the end the group wanted it done to be l33t since they knew no other group would bother doing it, so the encoder was waiting a good amount of time for that sign to be done causing delays. Anyways it’s always nice to be appreciated.

They shouldn’t catch the subbers. They Should Hire the subber to help subbing the anime….They even just copy and paste from a.f.k sub….(ops…more aggresive comments ….)

I haven’t watched Gundam 00 yet. But I’m just wondering why people in some forums keep calling that cheong-sam girl “Wong”. According to the main gundam 00 site, the katakana pronunciation of her name is “Wan Ryu-min”. I mean, Chinese like us would just laugh at that and attribute it to the typical Japanese crap ability of creating foreign names.
But still, why “Wong” and not “Wang” according to the surname?? Even in Cantonese, the whole name is wrong.
Japanese pronunciation = Wan Ryuumin
Chinese pronunciation = Wang Liu Mei
Cantonese pronunciation = Wong Lau Mei
And I’m pretty sure her name is just a bastardized way of pronouncing the Japanese name “Rumi” in Chinese. Sunrise should just shoot their character naming advisor.

Could we see an AVI format please? I know mkv is better, yada yada, but only one or two players can consistently and properly render MKV video with subtitles and all of them are on on Windows. Mac people are screwed.

Conclave torrents are too dam slow and u cant even preview the file to see if it even works….wen i download it the icon isnt a media file icon…

other torrents are like 120 kb/s fast for me and i can at least preview em on Divx

Still it doesn’t explains the matter of Mendoi-concleave doing not that of a good job on the Opening karaoke. I’m a big fan of op/ed songs, and as of that, I have to say, that as a big fan of larc an’ ciel it hurt me deep to see that you had mistakes in your translations for Daybreak bell. The first one and the most obvious one and the only one I’ll mention (as all the others are arguable things while this isn’t) is the next line in the end of the song:
“Mirai ha dare ni mo ochiotosenai”, listening to the line you can hear the “mirai” so clearily that a person who doesn’t understand Japanese can notice it too (I asked a friend of mine who agreed). You on the other hand went with “Negai ha dare ni mo ochiotosenai”, and translated it to something like “No one can ever take you down” :X Well, why not “No one can take the future down” or, to be consistent with your mistake “No one can ever take this wish down”.
Before you go criticize others or emphasize on how much of gods you are, do a little home check. Not that I don’t agree with the criticizm against Nyoro~n, just made me laugh :X
Now, if you think you are so good and all (And I see you are), I would be glad if you can do a TL check for the opening song already. Because the original translator for it did not that of a good job :X

The truth is, L’Arc~en~Ciel simply can’t sing. :) It’s not Mendoi-Conclave’s fault. We followed the official lyrics.
Don’t believe me? Go check the official lyrics scan. It says “negai wa dare ni mo uchiotosenai”.
So yeah, I am 100% sure that we are correct and it is indeed “negai”. If it sounds like “mirai” to you, blame it on L’Arc~en~Ciel’s pronunciation.
I’ve always been watching Menclave’s releases of Gundam 00 since the first episode. Anybody could see that it’s really quite a level above the others. The trick, of course, is keeping that levele up…
And that’s why I’m still waiting for what might as well be a month for Episode 14.

And DarkMirage, what are you talking about? L’Arc~en~Ciel can damn right sing otherwise they wouldn’t be this popular and wouldn’t have been around for these last 8 years since they started out. I’d be amazed if you could sing half as good as them.

Mendoi-Conclave sucks, it seems like it has been months since they last released an episode of gundam 00. I was better off going with Shinsen-subs.
