Sensouji in Asakusa, Tokyo We interrupt the much-delayed Comiket coverage to wish you a belated Happy New Year! 新年明けましておめでとうございます! While saner people were enjoying the company of their family and friends on New Year’s Eve in the comfort of their homes, I was wandering around Sensouji (浅草寺) to have a look at the infamous midnight [...]
The cosplay area at C75 The three-day long holy celebration of otakuism that is the Winter Comic Market came to a close yesterday. This is my second Comiket, and probably the last one in a long time. I am still in Japan right now, so I may not have time to blog about the last [...]
I’m back in Singapore. I had fever yesterday. Gao. Anyway, I sorted through my photos and I realized that they were quite shitty. I blame it all on the lighting. Because Japanese are completely asinine about getting their photos taken, and because the Comiket committee has my URL and I don’t want to get blacklisted, [...]
I finally found some time to sort through my pictures and scrape together enough content for a short post. This is a report of the first two days of Comiket 73 to give you a general idea what it was like. I will be posting a more detailed report only after I return from Japan, [...]
It’s my sixth day in Tokyo. I spent the whole of last night standing in the rain at near-zero temperature for about 9 hours. Comiket is insanity. But I’ll talk about that in its own post. Yesterday, I took a trip down to the centre of Tokyo Prefecture, in Kokubunji, a boring place that no [...]
Today was almost as tiring as yesterday because I had to lug my 2.5kg laptop around. An EEE PC would really come in handy when I’m traveling. It’s the fourth day of our little adventure in Tokyo and we took a trip to neighbouring Saitama prefecture to visit Konata’s favourite Gamers and Animate branches. Long [...]
I am so tired… I want to just drop dead and die, but here are some pictures. I think I walked about 6km in total today. A fire engine just drove by. I wonder where it’s heading to. But anyway, read on for photos from Kaminarimon, Nakano Broadway, Shinjuku and nighttime Akihabara.
It’s my second day in Tokyo. It’s only 8pm right now but it feels like midnight because the sun sets at 4pm… We overslept and missed Tsukiji, and ended up spending the whole day in Ikebukuro. (Otome Road in particular.) This is what happens when you don’t plan your itinerary in advance.
I’m now lying in my bunk bed at K’s House Tokyo in Asakusa. We just reached Tokyo this morning after an overnight transit flight via Bangkok. After leaving our luggage at the hostel, the group of us proceeded to take a long walk (longer than it should be due to various detours) to Akihabara. Pictures [...]
This year’s end-of-year cosplay event was once again held at the Singapore Expo. I dropped by for a bit to take some photos. Pictured above is the best cosplay of the whole event, according to me. Rei does exist in real-life.
EOY Cosplay 2006 Pictures, lots and lots of pictures. They say a picture speaks a thousand words. I suck at speaking, so I shall pad my post with pictures.
