My impression of the French I’ve been taking French lessons at Alliance Française de Singapour for some time now and I have sadly not been making much progress. Maybe I’m just getting too old for it but this foreign language thing seems a lot harder than it used to be. Either that or I am [...]
Communism — politically-incorrect moé we can believe in This is not the post you think it is. Now I admit that as a dangerous anti-American foreigner plotting to destroy that great nation through the evil that is globalization, I am an Obama supporter and I am happy that today is his inauguration. That said, this [...]
Over. Singapore’s first anime convention is. It’s been an eventful two days and I’m quite happy with the way it ended. Now we can start looking forward to next year. Also, I just woke up and my head hurts.
The e-mail interview with May’n is now up on the official AFA ’08 site. Thanks to everyone who submitted questions! Of course, not all your questions could be answered as May’n is a very busy star who enjoys taiyaki and pancakes, but 14 of them were! If you haven’t already read about it on other [...]
AFA08 pre-registration is now up. Only the $8 two-day ticket is available for pre-registration. Details on the special VIP seating for Mei’s concert (tier pricing and sales location) will be released early next week. Head to the official ticketing site more for information.
Yes, this is NOT a joke. May’n (May Nakabayashi), the beautiful voice behind Sheryl’s songs in Macross Frontier, will be making her way down to this tiny-red-dot island to perform live at the inaugural Anime Festival Asia, previously introduced on my blog, to be held on the 22nd and 23rd of November 2008. This will [...]
Hi guys. This is a competition for Singaporean artists (or those who think they are artists anyway), so if you are one of the 6 billion people who don’t live on this tiny island, then stop reading and go watch Macross Frontier 23. As part of the previously-mentioned AFA08, NUS Comics Animation Society is organizing [...]
A press conference was held today at the Japanese Association of Singapore to announce the inaugural Anime Festival Asia (AFA) to be held at Suntec City conventional hall on 22nd and 23rd of November. The event is organized by I-Promo and the Singaporean branch of Dentsu and it is sponsored by Bandai. The official site [...]
Cosfest VII was held over the weekends at Downtown East. It is an annual cosplaying convention, home to the Singapore qualifying round for the World Cosplay Summit in Nagoya, Aichi, along with other animé-related events and competitions. Also, the cutest Haruhi cosplayer ever. :O
Look at her left hand :P I dropped by the inaugural Singapore Toy and Comic Convention today to see the CosCon cosplay competition. As expected, the number of cosplayers who turned up was significantly smaller than those of dedicated cosplay events in Singapore, such as Cosfest and EOY.
I attended Xbox 360′s 2nd anniversary (in Singapore) party last night (April 3rd). It’s basically a small invite-only event for developers to showcase some of the upcoming titles to local bloggers and an excuse to have cake. I’m not exactly sure why I was invited, but apparently someone from GameAxis recommended me to the Microsoft [...]
It’s been about a week since I returned from Tokyo. School’s back in full-swing after two months of being sealed in an alternate dimension. This is going to be one busy year… The one thing that really feels different about being back in Singapore, other than climate, is the sunset. The picture above was taken [...]
