History has been rewritten once again

History is always written by the victors and Kyo-Ani has certainly been a winner. Here’s a picture from Akiba-blog.

Yay!! The first anime adaptation of Kanon!… right?

R.I.P Toei. You are not dead but you have been forgotten.

So anyway, the first Kanon DVD is out! Well, it’s not supposed to be out till 1 Jan but who cares about the official release date, right?

That said, Kyo-Ani’s Kanon is great. And it’s not because of Yuuichi. Mai has got to be the best Yukarin role ever next to Ichigo from the Onegai series.

Hmm, Kyo-ani’s adaption is great… but the Toei one will always have a place in my heart, being one of the first anime I saw it left a big crying depression on me for weeks :P

Kyo-Ani ftw! Maybe people will remember Toei when the Clannad movie is out, though. There seems to be some progress on that front (“storyboard reaching completion” says Dezaki). Not that the AIR movie was all that impressive, but still.

The sarcastic Kyon personality fits Okazaki Tomoya PERFECTLY. They are a total personality match. So yes, we need KyonAni to do it.

And Tomokazu Sugita must be laughing and rolling in his new found popularity I guess.

KyoAni will probably do Clannad, maybe by 2008. They can’t let this partnership go to waste, right?

Coincidentally, I’ve been rewatching Nanoha…

I second LianYL.
And I demand Kyo-Ani to make a 24-ep adaptation of CLANNAD.

people shall always remember Toei for Air Gear and Tenten, at least until someone remakes them with a budget over 10 bucks

Nanoha has got nothing on Mai and Ichigo. >>>

And Midori is head over heels all of them for her vocal range.

I also heard that Kyo-Ani is also one of the few studios that always finish by deadline without making their animators rush and sleep in studio. How the hell do they do it?

I have never watched the first adaptation(except for a short scene which failed to leave any impression) but I love the second. Cheers for Kyoto Anime.
